We Came As Romans releases music video for new song, ‘Darkbloom’

July 14, 2021 By Nao Lewandowski

We Came As Romans has shared an imaginative new music video for their latest single, “Darkbloom.” Ushering in the next chapter of their story, the song boasts sharp synths and blasting grooves, all while showcasing the band’s signature anthemic chorus and Dave Stephens’s heavyweight vocals.

In Fall 2019, the band shared two new tracks: “From the First Note” and “Carry the Weight,” which were the first few tastes of WCAR after singer Kyle Pavone’s tragic passing in August 2018. In the same way, “Darkbloom” holds both the weight of the past and hope for the future — a defining moment for the metalcore giants.

Guitarist Joshua Moore shares more about the new track:

“The idea behind ‘Darkbloom’ is that even through the darkest, most difficult times of life, there is still the potential, or possibility, of personal growth.”

He continues: “As long as we’re not willing to completely concede to the negative emotion or thought that feels like it has taken over, then we can be strong enough to overcome and push through to a different future. This song is about having the mind to be able to acknowledge the reality of situations we’re in, but having the strength to weather the adversity. It’s about making the choice to keep putting the effort forth to move your life forward, in the face of the most difficult times you’ll experience.”

You can catch We Came As Romans on the road this fall on their To Plant A Seed Anniversary Tour.

Heaven's Metal

When rock emerged from blues and 'heavy metal' began to surface, faith-based metal acts also rose to start their own journeys. Initially shunned by both believers and non-believers, they were fighting for their spot at the table, ultimately building a legacy that would go on to change the genre forever. HM presents an oral history of the beginning of Christian metal music, featuring Guardian, Tourniquet, Holy Soldier, Whitecross, and, of course, Stryper.
