The idea behind using placeholder content is simple: dropping real tracks too early in the production process can disrupt the rhythm before the final mix hits the right note.

Pop-rockers Bowling For Soup brought the energy to Buffalo Run Casino & Resort on Saturday, November 29, 2025, in Miami, Oklahoma. The place was buzzing as fans lined up, from a couple visiting from Overland Park to a group from near Oklahoma City. The will call booth stayed busy but cheerful, handling ticket pickups and gaming card cash-outs while I waited for the band’s tour manager, Dave, to sort out a small mix-up that reminded me of another TM I’d met years ago named Boogie. Even with assigned seating, after three songs in the pit I moved to seats in the back with more leg and arm room, skipping the hassle of squeezing past others to get to my spot.

The venue was quickly packed with an array of fans from cowboys to punk ascetics yet once Bowling For Soup‘s frontman & guitarist, Jaret Reddick, came out you couldn’t tell them apart. Followed on stage by fellow band members drumer Gary Wiseman and bassist Rob Felicetti the show kicked off with “Almost and High School Never Ends” setting the pace for a rhythmic show of memories and a couple new songs including “free bird” to the tune of tom petty and Jaret‘s constant interaction with fans holding signs one of which was dedicated to Mrs. Hacker’s fourth grade students so they got a no cussing version of Phineas and Ferb with the crowd singing along. Continuing the show with a total of sixteen songs and lots of add lib and stories they then noticed a sing from a young fan asking to play guitar for 1985 “Luke like from star wars” came on stage and while a nervous start he did a great job. They also invited another young man “Cameron” who absolutely killed it on drums with hair whipping back and forth I wish I was still in the pit to capture him.

Overall this band was still as rocking as they where in the 90s despite a line change or two over their 30 years performing for us and brought me back to my 20s as I sat in the back behind the soundboard having an amazing time with fans singing along. Based on my experience I will recommend two things, one go see the band on tour as you won’t regret it, and two add this venue on your list of places to see your favorite bands perform in the future!
