Stir Coves outdoor setting creates an energetic, festival like atmosphere, but with its sloped layout, it gives the concert goers an intimate view of the stage. The combination of music, open air, and enthusiastic crowds makes for a memorable concert experience. The venue’s lineup regularly brings major touring acts to the area, and on October 2nd, 2026, this was absolutely the case as Chance The Rapper presented his “Coloring Book, Ten Year Anniversary Tour to a passionate crowd.
Opening the night was La Reezy and his side-kick Claydough, a couple of New Orleans artist, who have been joining Chance throughout most of the anniversary tour. Rather than simply serving as a warm-up act, La Reezy came out ready to make an impression, bringing his own energy and style to the Stir Cove crowd.
The opening moments sent a jolt through the venue, and from there, the show carried a restless, contagious energy that never let up. La Reezy owned the stage with a confident presence, moving with the beat and delivering each song with intensity and personality. What stood out most was La Reezy’s natural connection with the crowd. His delivery felt authentic and effortless, showing that he’s an artist with the talent and charisma worth paying attention to.
Peter Cottontail, Chance the Rappers official D.J. hit the stage to hype up the crowd, although they didn’t need help with that. There were tons of call and responses and boisterous sing-a-longs. The D.J. kept things going and introduced Chance to us.
Ten years can seem like a lifetime in music. Artists come and go, sounds change, and yesterday’s hits can quickly become tomorrow’s nostalgia. But every once in a while, an album comes along that refuses to stay in the past.
Released in 2016, “Coloring Book” was a defining chapter in Chance’s career, blending hip-hop, gospel, soul and an unmistakable sense of joy. Ten years later, those songs still have plenty of life left in them. When Chance the Rapper hit the stage, the reaction was immediate. This wasn’t simply a greatest hits show. The entire evening was built around celebrating “Coloring Book”, and Chance treated the album like a living piece of his musical history rather than something being pulled out of a vault for nostalgia. The performance moved through songs that helped define the “Coloring Book” era, mixing energetic rap performances with the gospel influences and uplifting spirit that made the project so distinctive. Songs released a decade ago didn’t sound like artifacts from 2016. They sounded like songs people had been waiting ten years to hear together again. Hopefully it won’t be 10 years before Chance returns to the area.
