Their new single, ‘Terror By Night’, is accompanied by a music video made from clips of a 1946 black and white Sherlock Holmes film of the same name, giving a vibe that is completely in keeping with the song’s industrial horror vibe.

Whether their industrial sound is by design or accident remains to be told, but I suspect that there might have been some inspiration in the fact that the duo’s recording studio is housed in a 140 year old drill bit factory. Their music is largely experimental in vibe, with ‘Terror By Night’ bringing in groans on the guitar, guttural sounds from the synths, and drums that drone on and on with a steady yet lachrymose rhythm. Meanwhile Lauren Voss could be channelling the bean sí with her singing, a wail that at times resembles keening of old. Far from frightening, it’s all perfectly in keeping with the tone of the music, and when heard alongside the video, whose scenes mostly take place on a train, the drums and percussion perfectly giving the locomotive feel.
