Greek black metal legends, Rotting Christ, headlined the long-awaited tour of Devastation on the Nation, which was postponed in March of 2020. Supporting them were: Borknagar, Abigail Williams, Ghost Bath, Vale of Pnath, and Stormruler. The North American tour ended on May 22nd at 1720 in Los Angeles.

The supporting bands warmed the packed venue up for Borknagar and Rotting Christ. Fans continued to fill the floor until the headliners were up. Norwegian heavy metal supergroup, Borknagar, provided a break in musical style with their melodic and progressive elements. The crowd was chanting for vocalist, Vortex, before they started playing. Their performance was fun, energetic and different from typical metal shows.

Rotting Christ opened their set with “666” and played some of their best songs. The pit got wilder and wilder with every song. Fans were crowd-surfing and stage diving throughout their set. Their presence in Los Angeles was highly anticipated and no one was disappointed. The band put on such a spectacular show and the crowd couldn’t get enough of it. They ended their encore with “Non Serviam” and the supporting bands joined them on stage. It instantly became a party, and it was a bittersweet moment celebrating the end of the tour. Devastation on the Nation was a must-see show that revived the metal scene, especially after these last couple of years.
