Dorothy, along with tour mate Cory Marks, brought the Redemption Tour to the only casino on this leg. Dorothy sold out another show, this time at the Whiskey Roadhouse in the Horseshoe Cascino, Council Bluffs, IA on April 25th, 2025.

Both Marks and Dorothy’s setlists were perfect for the Whiskey Roadhouse. People showed up in everything from cowboy boots, to biker vests, to sequined jackets, all getting a taste of their bluesy, southern rock sound.

Cory Marks took the stage with his band. The last time saw him, he was performing a solo acoustic set opening for Theory of a Deadman.  This time was much different. He was really able to rock out and show his animated personality. Marks covered “My Sacrifice” by Creed and his “Outlaws and Outsiders” collaboration with Ivan Moody and Mick Mars giving him rock credibility. Marks is still country rock through and through, undoubtedly highlighted by his heavy twang, but he fits nicely on this Dorothy tour.

Dorothy took the stage decked out in all black; a lace bell sleeve top, leather bell-bottoms, big belt buckle with a steer logo and a cowboy hat. I don’t know if it was Cory Marks kicking off the night, the Whiskey Roadhouse atmosphere or Dorothy’s attire, but I really felt the southern blues in her set. I’ve seen her live before, but this time it really stood out to me.

A few things of note on the night, first Sam “Bam” Kolton shreds.  He joined Dorothy a couple of years ago, but is still a member of Faster Pussycat. Kolton was also picked up to finish the most recent Godsmack tour. So, hitting back, to back, to back tours this year, he is an absolute workhorse, and I’m enamored by his guitar skills. Kolton had some killer guitar solos throughout the night, especially on “Gifts From The Holy Ghost”. He really makes these songs his own. Oh yeah, and he works the talk box.

Dorothy talked about the life she’s lived, that God put her on earth for a purpose, and mentioned her sobriety. She doesn’t drink anymore because of the disease that runs in her family, her momma and grama both had it, stating it’s the reason she wrote the song “Rest In Peace”. Dorothy observed someone in the audience that was affected by the story, stopping only a few lines in to acknowledge them. She noticed the song “touched your heart” and promised them “It gets better”. Dorothy is a consummate performer, she looks amazing, works the stage, interacts with the audience and her voice has stamina. Her vocals remained strong and pitch perfect all night, through the final song, “Tombstone Town”.
