The idea behind using placeholder content is simple: dropping real tracks too early in the production process can disrupt the rhythm before the final mix hits the right note.

Celebrating the 10th year anniversary of their breakout album Mister Asylum, Highly Suspect made their 8th stop of a 10-date tour at The Fillmore in Detroit, Michigan on December 12th, 2025.

Kicking off the night’s entertainment was Flight Attendant. Based out of Nashville, Tennessee, this band is far from country music Nashville is known for.  With addictive hooks, lively enthusiasm and sing-along worthy lyrics, Flight Attendant is an absolute blast of a band. With Karalyne Winegarner on lead vocals and keyboard, Vinny Maniscalco on vocals and guitar, Nikki Christie on vocals and viola, Derek Sprague on drums and Peyton Rodeffer on vocals and bass guitar, this group is every bit of the fun avant indie rock you could expect and more. There’s no denying the great chemistry and Winegarner leading the way with assurance and even standing up on her keyboard pulling her button up shirt half off standing high above stage to get the point across. Flight Attendant is taking off, so get aboard and enjoy the ride.

It’s been amazing to see how far Highly Suspect has come in the past ten years since their album Mister Asylum put them on the map with a grammy nomination and bigger audiences. Seeing them just kill it with dynamite performances in a hole in the wall place to small venues for hundreds of fans and now to big venues in front of thousands of fans, you can’t help but feel proud of their success. Playing the Mister Asylum album, live, in its entirety was a treat to hear. The band used social media telling fans to dress up in suits to make it more of a regal affair. There were several folks dressed to the nines to help the event feel special.

Johnny Stevens on lead vocals and guitar, Rich Meyer on bass guitar and backing vocals, Ryan Meyer on drums and backing vocals, Matt Kofos on guitar, percussion and backing vocals and Mark Schwartz on guitar, keyboard and backing vocals are a well-oiled machine that put on an amazing performance. With songs “Lydia”, “Bath Salts”, “Bloodfeather” and “23”, the Mister Asylum album covers energetic hard rocking music and unhurried tunes full of depth that captured us back when it was released and has held us still to this day.

After a short intermission, the guys came back out to play a bunch more songs across their growing library, featuring hits “Little One”, “My Name Is Human” and an extended version of “Serotonia”, Highly Suspect jammed away into the night to give us all the feels that had numerous fans crowd surfing and encapsulated an awesome experience of live music.

This tour ends soon, so if you cannot catch it, keep an eye out for shows next year from both Flight Attendant and Highly Suspect wherever they may be, nothing but fun times seeing these bands live.
