The idea behind using placeholder content is simple: dropping real tracks too early in the production process can disrupt the rhythm before the final mix hits the right note.

Ivelisse Del Carmen fuses vulnerability with rhythm in ‘Sin Filtro’

Singer, songwriter and storyteller Ivelisse Del Carmen, shared her latest magical offering ‘Sin Filtro’ on 19 September via the Native Sounds imprint.

The single is her most fearless and bold release yet, as it merges elements of reggaeton as well as orchestral and Spanish influences. Her otherworldly vocals steal the show and drip with fervent emotion throughout, while heightening the drama and cinematic feel of the track.

Based in London, but born in Puerto Rico, Ivelisse Del Carmen is a classically trained opera singer. She uses her talent, passion and cultural roots to fuel her artistry, and create music that’s rich with stories and heart-centred lyricism. The track was produced by Paul Stanborough, who has worked with the likes of Tina Turner and Kylie Minogue, while it also marks a significant milestone in Ivelisse’s journey as she gears up for the release of her sophomore album.

Sharing more on the powerful single, Ivelisse revealed; “This isn’t club music, it’s reflection music… it’s reggaeton as I hear it, filtered through my voice, my training, and my need to be real. In 90s Puerto Rico, reggaeton was often censored or criticized. This song is about reclaiming it, on my own terms.”
