Music Is More Than A Passion For DaLomonze With New Single, ‘Picture Day’

Drawing his inspiration from his rich musical upbringing in Cleveland, DaLomonze captures perfect moments in time with new single, ‘Picture Day’.
Twice nominated for a Grammy Award, and a Dove Award, DaLomonze’s musical journey began when a teacher recognised his incredible vocal range, and scouted him for the prestigious Cleveland Children’s Orchestra, instilling in him a lifelong love for singing and performing. By 16, he had been taken under the wing of music and film producer, DJ Phatty Banks, and was collaborating with local artists, accumulating invaluable industry experience along the way.
‘Picture Day’ is the first single and title track of DaLomonze’s upcoming EP, which sees the artist accompany each of the 8 tracks with a video that’s as much like a short film as a music visualiser. Each captures a specific moment in time, and, much like the school picture days that we all grew up dreading, creates an evolving image of what we present to the world. In In DaLomonze’s case, we see the phases in his life, his career achievements, and all that comes in between.
While ‘Picture Day’ is the first track on the EP, it’s clear from the video that this isn’t the start of DaLomonze’s story, but rather a raw reflection of gentle conviction, which sees him drop all his inhibitions as he bares his soul to the one he loves. He showcases his vocal ability with a range that defies gravity and stunning emotional delivery, over a violin melody containing all the drama that can be imagined. Angelic harmonies lift his voice, until the beat drops, and the track then diverts into a soul-stirring rap verse, powerful and strong.
The music video sees DaLomonze trying to come to grips with his confusing reality, after a charged argument – for him, there’s no going forward, everything goes back to the same place, and, with desperation he’s trying to make sense of it all. He reaches a breaking point, whereupon everything snaps back into clear focus, and he accepts life for what it is. As his eyes meet the camera, we see his face, pooling with emotions, setting the stage for the next visual, ‘Loves Me Not’.
