The Dow Event Center in Saginaw, Michigan hosted Alice Cooper on May 10th, 2025, for a stop of his Too Close For Comfort tour. Thousands of rock and roll fans swarmed the venue in anticipation of a great night of music. And let me tell you, Alice did not disappoint.  Wow!  What a show!!

First off, walking into the room where the merch was set up, I was stunned at the large crowd waiting to buy up Alice Cooper gear. That was a sight to behold in of itself. I had some time to kill before heading to the photo pit, so I scouted where my seat was, so I knew where to go after taking photos.  Just a few seats over were an older couple with a little dog, which I thought was cool as heck, and he was wearing a shirt with palm trees which made him even cuter.  I was pleasantly surprised to see the pooch and asked the couple if they had to get a ticket for the dog. They said, no, because he’s a service dog. I mentioned it must be his first time seeing Cooper, and they said, yes. I quipped, but it must not be your first time. To my surprise, they said they had never seen Alice Cooper live before. Having seen Alice a couple of times myself so far, I told them they’re in for a treat.

Like I said earlier, this show was not let down. From start to finish, you had material spanning multiple decades of fantastic songs delighting the ears and theatrics dazzling the eyes. With bass guitarist, Chuck Garric, who was sporting mutton chops that would make X-Men’s, Wolverine, proud. Ryan Roxie on guitar, Tommy Henriksen on guitar, Glen Sobel on drums and Nita Strauss on guitar. This band is so full of talent it’s impossible not to feel the vibes they play whether it be the upbeat songs like “Under My Wheels”, “Lost In America” and “Feed My Frankenstein” to name a few, paired with the theatrics of Alice in a straitjacket for “Ballad Of Dwight Fry”. Dancing around with a human sized stuffed doll for “Cold Ethyl” or slinging Billion Dollar bills off a sword towards the audience during “Billion Dollar Babies”. Draping a red-tailed boa snake over his shoulders to getting his head chopped off in a guillotine to a giant oversized Alice Cooper monster stalking around the stage and popping giant balloons released onto the crowd.  Even Alice’s daughter Calico made appearances, dancing around stage in a Victorian dress. This show had everything that brought a big smile to my face, and I’m sure to the thousands in attendance as well.

Sobel pummeled out an awesome drum solo and Nita riffed an awesome guitar solo. The drum and guitar solos are staples of a rock and roll show that should never be abandoned. I know Alice’s scene in the movie Wayne’s World had Wayne and Garth saying to Alice, “We’re not worthy, we’re not worthy, we’re not worthy”. We may not be worthy, but we are so glad Alice came to Saginaw to perform.

Don’t miss your chance seeing rock icon and Detroit, Michigan’s own Alice Cooper bringing nightmares to life as he’s got plenty of tour dates left.  And that little dog, well, he was all tuckered out at the end of the concert and his owners were happy to be there. Long live rock and roll and long live Alice Cooper, we are all worthy.
