The idea behind using placeholder content is simple: dropping real tracks too early in the production process can disrupt the rhythm before the final mix hits the right note.

Sevendust, stopped into Lincoln, Nebraska December 3rd, 2025 celebrating the 21st anniversary of Southside Double-Wide Acoustic Live. Sevendust, a band known for their high energy performances slowed it down giving an unforgettable acoustic show to a packed house at the Bourbon Theatre.

Country rocker Cory Marks was direct support. Marks, looking to party, took the stage solo with just his guitar and gritty vocals. He gave us a set full of country music laced with rock overtones including “Blame It On The Double”, “Whiskey River”, Bryan Adams’ hit “Cuts Like A Knife” and the song he created with Travis Tritt, Mick Mars and Ivan Moody, “Outlaws & Outsiders”.

Sevendust took the stage to a fully seated crowd. The first thing Lajon Witherspoon (lead vocals) had everyone do was stand up. He said you can sit at home. That sentiment set the tone for the rest of the night. Witherspoon with his Christmas light adorned mic stand kept the show festive and intimate, interacting with the crowd and telling stories. The Nebraska cold really made an impression on him joking several times about how damn cold it was here.  He also gave a shout out to the “best pizza place in town”.  Witherspoon went out for lunch, heading the opposite direction when he saw a guy karate chopping a light post. He said that was “his sign” and decided it was best to go the other way, landing at Yia Yia’s pizza. He said the pizza and hospitality was so good, he went back for dinner.

Sevendust played a majority of the Southside Double-Wide Acoustic Live album adding “Denial” mid set and “Face to Face” to the encore. Christmas came early for a bunch of Sevendust fans in the front rows. Throughout the show Witherspoon handed out picks and a bunch of what looked like setlists or notes from his podium.

It was an extraordinary occurrence to take in an acoustic show like this. It provided an exclusive music experience nurturing the connection between Sevendust and their fans. It was a night to remember.
