The Difference Between shares debut single and music video for ‘Envenom’

July 2, 2021 By Nao Lewandowski

Comprised of members from Emarosa, Softspoken, and A Scent Like Wolves, progressive metalcore band The Difference Between announced their debut EP today. The band also released a gripping new music video for their lead single, “Envenom.”

After touring together in 2017, Chris Roberts (Emarosa), Chris Wethington (Softspoken), and Cody Frain (A Scent Like Wolves) entertained the idea of collaborating on a new project. Now, years later, they’ve teamed up with bassist Garrett Harper to bring their ideas to life, and have created the perfect blend of progressive metalcore grooves and dissonant melodies.

According to Revolver Magazine, Roberts had this to say about the band’s debut single:

“‘Envenom’ is about struggling with an inner monologue, and using alcohol as a crutch to cope. Every day feels like the one before. Everything feels like a drunken haze.”

The Difference Between’s debut EP, Detach: Envenom, will be available July 30, via Theoria Records.
