April 26th, 2025, marks the date for Wednesday 13’s There’s No Such Things As Monsters tour stop at The Machine Shop in Flint, Michigan. Kicking off the show was the one-woman army, I Ya Toyah, which from Polish to English translates to “It’s just me”.
I Ya Toyah certainly is a one-woman army as she sings, plays guitar and tunes the knobs on the mixing board as she cranks out those electronic beats that take you to the heart of industrial music. Blood pumping and body rocking pulses had the crowd grooving along as I Ya Toyah captivated the audience with her post-apocalyptic look and laser lights beaming from her fingers.
Busting the show into overdrive was the four-piece sinister bunny masked heavy metal group The Dead Rabbitts. Featuring Craig Mabbitt on vocals and Erik Jensen on guitar, who fans may be familiar with from their other band Escape The Fate. Also, Delaney Jaster filling in on drums and Colton Westerman on bass guitar. The crowd morphed into a moshing head banging entity as The Dead Rabbitts tore through song after song full of heavy riffs. Fans have more to cheer for as they’ve released a new album, Redefined, on March 14th this year. The Dead Rabbitts are a sight to behold and blessing to the ears of any fan of heavy metal music.
Stitched Up Heart was greeted with a roar of cheers as the Los Angeles; California hard rock group took the stage. Known for their energy and good fun on stage, they put it all on display tonight. Lead singer Alecia “Mixi” Demner commands the room with her presence and even crowd-surfed during a song. Merritt Goodwin on guitar, Randy Mathias on bass guitar and Delaney Jaster on drums rocked the place. Craig Mabbitt even made an appearance to sing along with Mixi on a song, and their chemistry is palpable onstage together. Stitched Up Heart simply rocks, and good times are had when they play.
Fresh off a new album release on April 25th this year, titled, Mid Death Crisis. Wednesday 13 has a lot going on, he had quite an eventful situation while shooting a music video earlier this year for one of his songs off the new album. They noticed a fire had started in the bushes just near the highway in California where the video shoot was happening, and the band stopped to go contain the fire until firefighters arrived to fully put out the flames.
Wednesday 13 always brings the party and never disappoints as he brings his brand of dark humor, tongue in cheek macabre rock and roll. With Troy Doebbler on bass guitar, Jack Tankersley on guitar, Ashes on guitar and Mike Dupke on drums. The great thing about Wednesday 13 songs is the crowd participation they have. Rather, it’s chanting 6-6-6 or R-A-M-B-O. The fun factor is always amplified when you can interact with the songs. Closing out the show with everybody’s favorite swear word with the song “I Love To Say Fuck”, you know it’s hard not to sing along and raise those middle fingers. All of this encouraged with the help from an umbrella with a drawing of a big middle finger and a sign saying “I Love To Say Fuck” carried by someone wearing a middle finger mask. But just before this, Wednesday addressed an important person in his life, the late great Joey Jordison, who he was bandmates with in Murderdolls. It would’ve been Joey’s 50th birthday on this night. Wednesday honored Joey with another Murderdolls song, “Dead In Hollywood”.
From start to finish, this was an outstanding night of talent gracing the stage, and everyone in attendance had fun. There are only a handful of shows left on this tour to catch Wednesday 13 in the United States, as it ends May 3rd. Then Wednesday 13 will be off to Europe during the summer.
