Chevelle returned to Omaha, Nebraska August 12th, 2025, just a little over a year since their last appearance at the Steelhouse. Chevelle recently kicked off their North American tour bringing indie rockers Dead Poet Society and heavy metal giants Asking Alexandria while supporting their soon-to-be released album Bright as Blasphemy.

Dead Poet Society (DPS) brought their A-game, kicking off the night with powerful energy.  DPS is still touring off their most recent album FISSION which was released January 2024.  The short but mighty seven song set, mixed with old and new songs, really got the crowd pumped.   It’s evident the Omaha’s biggest DPS fans were front and center, jumping around while singing all the words.  I only wished more people would have come earlier to catch them.  They have a heavy indie rock sound that’s easy to vibe to.

I’ve seen Asking Alexandria (AA) several times now, and this night felt different. It felt bigger. I can’t put my finger on it, but they were on fire. I recently caught their show in Lincoln, Nebraska a few months again headlining a tour and I felt this show had twice the energy. They were really able to engage and feed off the Steelhouse crowd. Midway through the set, before they played “Alone in a Room”, Danny Worsnop (lead vocals) told the crowd if they’re wanting to crowd-surf “now’s your chance” and they did, surfers started streaming to the front. After the mayhem, AA slowed it down. The band left the stage, Worsnop grabbed an acoustic guitar and played “Someone, Somewhere”. For the next song, the band returned to the stage and slowly picked things back up, with Worsnop still strumming the acoustic guitar. The band joined in playing “Moving On “. AA finished their set with the heavy hitting “The Final Episode (Let’s Change the Channel). Overall, the crowd really brought the enthusiasm. This would have been a great night for them to play more from their collection, the energy was that good.

I wasn’t sure how Chevelle was going to top Asking Alexandria’s performance, but it was now the moment of truth. A plus for Chevelle was the Steelhouse finally filled up. Almost as if the crowd changed over from Asking Alexandria fans to Chevelle fans. Chevelle took the stage and did what Chevelle does; they played a top tier 90-minute set, delighting everyone in attendance. Chevelle doesn’t have a lot of flash. But what they do have is excellent visuals and superior sound. Chevelle hasn’t changed much over the years, so fans know exactly what they’re going to get, and that’s exactly what they got.

Chevelle played several new songs off their album Bright as Blasphemy, set to be released August 15th, 2025.  The crowd stayed strong, continuing with crowd-surfing and moderate mosh pit in the middle. Chevelle’s North America tour is just warming up. It’s a solid night of rock music. Check out their upcoming show; it’s sure to be worth your time.
