Having wrapped up their tour with Hotline TNT last month. Wednesday are on the road in Australia now, and they also made a recent stop at NPR Music Headquarters in DC for a Tiny Desk Concert. They played three songs from last year’s excellent Rat Saw God, “Chosen to Deserve,” (with the addition of some banjo from pedal/lap steel player Xandy Chelmis) “Formula One,” and “Bath County.” Karly Hartzman talked a little about the songs’ origins, and said that Tiny Desk Concerts, especially a 2015 performance from Mitski, had helped her learn to play guitar.
